Okay, I've never been on a Colorado Elk, Mule Deer or Moose hunt. I'm in search of someone who makes the trip from time to time so that I can find out what all is needed. I'm in hopes of going sometime in the next few years but just dont know what all I have to do. Any help would SURE be appreciated.

The best thing to do is go to their DOW site and read their material. Some areas are draw only and others aren't. I'm sure the price has gone up sense I was last there.
I try to help if I can.

Hey Rusty , I hunt in colorado every 2 to 3 years . Let me know what you're wanting to know about it and I'll try to help. archery for elk is over=the=counter except in highly sought after areas which are draw. Muzzleloader is all draw for elk along with 1st rifle season. then 2nd 3rd & 4th rifle are usally OTC. All mule license are draw. You build preference points by applying each year.Elk Bull is around 525.00 cow 250.00 mule deer 300.00
Rusty , what are your plans ? guided hunt or do it your self ? What type of weapon ? Even if you are not ready to go this year best bet is to start putting in for preferance points for the types of critters you want, they will increase your odds of drawing a tag. This must be done before April deadline. Better save up for the moose tag it is expensive.
I'd probably go on a diy hunt. I'd like to hunt elk or mule deer problem is I have no idea where to hunt. Kinda hard to scout things out while living in Texas.
