I have always wanted to bow fish for Tilapia!!! I just dont have my boat set up to fish at night.
Can you fish for them during the day? I have never even been on Martin Creek either so I know nothing about the lake or where to even start looking for the fish. I guess I need to change that and just go.

yea you can shoot them during the day. I've never shot them at night. they'll be over on the hot side early in the year an then move around to the cool side as summer heats up. They're hard to hit but lots of fun. Let me know if you want to meet up out there sometime.

Guys from what I've heard the tilapia are pretty good right now at Martin Creek. I'm going on Sunday if anyone wants to meet out there. Weather supposed to be good. I'll have my kiddos with me in my boat so I won't have any room left but if you've got a boat and want to meet let me know.

A guy that I work with said that his son and a few friends went last weekend and shot 105 in 2 days.
Waiting on a B&C, but I'll settle for a P&Y!!

Went out to Martin Creek yesterday. The tilapia were there and bunches of them only problem was the wind was blowing in the exact wrong direction. Made them kinda hard to see and hard to keep the boat where you wanted it. I shot 8 and decided that was all I wanted to clean. Let my kids do a bunch of shooting at them. My recurve is a little too much for them but my daughter got close to a few of them. We'll be back out there soon.

If you don't mind saying, where on Martin Creek were you? We went Saturday night on LOP at the North End in the river. Saw two fish. Pulled out at 9:00 and went to a different spot. Still only shot 7. Another tough night.

We put in at Durgin bridge and went up toward the discharge. The three or four coves on the left are always good if the wind is right. I've never had much luck on the right side going toward the discharge.
